Find Your True Path

Realizing that the course you’ve enrolled in doesn’t align with your passion can be disheartening. However, it’s not the end of the world. In most situations, you can switch to a course that matches your interests, provided it is at or above your current education level. This means you cannot downgrade from a bachelor’s to a vocational program.

The Course Change Process

To change your course, you’ll need to obtain a letter of release from your current education provider and then apply for a new visa. This process can be complex, but our experts at Uniglobe Education and Visa Services are here to guide you through it.

Course Change in Australia

As an overseas student in Australia on a student visa (subclass 500), you may be eligible to change courses if your current study program doesn’t resonate with your career aspirations. If you have been studying your original degree for six months or longer and wish to shift to a similar or higher level Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) program at your present institution, you do not need to apply for a new student visa.

However, if you plan to attend a lower-level or non-AQF program, you will need to apply for a new student visa. Exceptions may apply if you are switching from an AQF level 10 (Doctoral degree) course to an AQF 9 program (Master’s degree).

With Uniglobe Education and Visa Services, navigating the process of changing your course becomes smoother and more manageable, ensuring you can pursue your true passion with confidence.
